I Have to Get My Ya-Yas Outposted on 15 May 2012 in Arts and EntertainmentI love to get in my Corvette with the top off and crank up “Get Yer Ya-Ya’s Out” while cruising. The Rolling Stones have always been a great concert band, and this album shows why. The album was recorded in 1969, as “Beggars Banquet” was popular. “Ya-Yas” kicks off with “Jumpin’ Jack Flash” and concludes with “Street Fighting Man” and is a high-energy ten-song collection, with most songs expanded well beyond their original lengths. The nine-minute version of “Midnight Rambler” is the one most often heard on the radio, with the signature pauses and tempo changes. My personal favorites are Chuck Berry songs, “Carol” and “Little Queenie,” which the Stones perform with their own style while honoring their roots. A blues standard, “Love In Vain” is the only slower tempo cut. This album never fails to get me singing along to a band I grew up with and am growing old with. I've worked for recording studio builders on and off for years, and many of my colleagues always say how good the sounds are on Stones albums. For real rock and roll, “Get Yer Ya-Yas Out” is my personal favorite. |

Creativity as applied in any business sectorposted on 13 May 2012 in Business and FinanceCreativity is one of the greatest gifts that God ever gave his creation. The ability to be innovative has brought caused the people of earth to move from the stone-age to the present increasingly computer age technology. There are those that are more creative than others because of their artistic inclination than others who are probably scientific inclined or social sciences inclined. If you believe you are such creative person and you are looking for a job to do advertise job would be the best fit for you. This field requires coming up with an artistic theme for any product or service that can catch the attention of the prospective consumers or clients. It is not an easy field to get involved with as it requires constant creativity to remain relevant. It is a fast growing field as more and more organizations understand that in order to be competitive you must engage in above per advertisement. Therefore organizations spend money on people in this field for the organization to have a notch against its competitors. |

The Bike Lane? You Gotta be Kidding Meposted on 12 May 2012 in Recreation and HobbiesFirst off, let me say I love biking. I'm often seen in the cycle shops around London browsing accessories for my bike. However, I have a few bad words to say about certain bikers I meet on the road. Maybe it is just here in the city that I live in, but despite the bike lane, traffic seems to get backed up for miles, thanks to that one person on a bike who insists on riding in the same lane with a car. And, the bad part is that in most area of the city you can find those specially made bike lines to prevent this! I must say this is a big pet peeve of mine. Sure bikers have rights, but when there is so much backup and confusion being caused, there is a problem. I do not understand why they even do this!! It makes no sense not to use that bike lane and does nothing but turn people away from those lanes, etc. I am not sure if I am alone in these feelings, but it doesn't matter. Use the bike lane people. They have been put there for a reason. And when you are on the road in front of 20 cars that can't get around you, do not be upset when you get the finger, the middle, and some harsh words behind it. |

Car Hire: What's Not to Love?posted on 11 May 2012 in Cars and TransportAs I stopped to pick up my exhaust where it had fallen off in the road the other day, I found myself once again counting the increasing cost of running a car. The MOT is due next month and there's no way the gas-guzzling monster is going to pass unless I spend yet more hard-earned cash on new tyres. The road tax comes up for renewal in June, the insurance is due at the same time and, thanks to recent changes in legislation, I'll lose my discount for being female. With the price of maintaining a car going up and up and up, it makes sense to dispense with car ownership and just hire one when it's really needed. There's a car hire company in Hinckley that I may contact to see about monthly hire. All the joys of motoring with none of the hassle! Someone else can do the maintaining, and the cleaning, and check the tyre pressures and the oil and all the other tedious jobs and I just have to show up, drive it, and return it. Just think, if we all turned to car hire, public transport could have another heyday and we’d all be greener too. Right then, for sale: one gas guzzler, short MOT and needs new tyres.... The Simple Beauty of a Garden Lawnposted on 11 May 2012 in Home and GardenA garden means only one thing. A lawn. It may well be peacefully decorated with tasteful little flowers, but it is the verdant velvet veldt, that gracefully rolling green sea which captures the heart and restores the soul. Not for it the undignified squabbling of the planting beds, nor the sombre shade of the trees where nothing grows. No, the lawn does not come and go with the seasons, does not change its colors with every passing wind, to fade away in the hope of a later return. The pest invasion of last year was vanquished with my ultrasonic pest repellers to leave the garden in its glory. A lawn will stay, an oasis of calm in a chaotic noise that surrounds the disorder of the rest of the garden. Nor is it elitist, requiring to be waited on upon hand and knee, hours of backbreaking work to gain the smallest reward, and it does not suffer the stultifying smog of a greenhouse temple. The lawn is instead, welcoming to all - men, gazebos, sheds, or any garden furniture - to rest upon it. Practical as well, for parties and pleasantries, the lawn pulls them of with panache, a perfect partner to the host. A place to play as well, to celebrate and frolic, and finally to rest, a slumber supine beneath the stars. More on this Topic: itv.com | lifehacker.com |

Having a Roof Like Your Grandpa Used to Haveposted on 11 May 2012 in Construction and IndustrialWhen you go around looking at some of the older homes you start thinking about how they were back in the days you grandpa started thinking that is what you want. Having roofs like they did using slating and tiling is your home character but then again you have to think about if it will keep out the wind and the rain and if roofing companies will build it like they did back then - nowadays you have GRP and fibreglass roofing - modern materials that can protect your house from the elements. Everyone wants their home to have a certain character like they did so many years ago but then you also have people that want a more modern style like they have today. I myself have always been fascinated by the way things were done in the old days when my great grandpa built his home. I guess you could go with part old-fashioned and also modernization to give it a unique feel of yesterday and today. You could do the exterior the old-fashioned way and make it look like homes of yesterday but then the interior can be modern. This can give you the old with the new make your home unique. Save Money and Convert More Sales with Email Marketingposted on 11 May 2012 in Internet RelatedEmail marketing is a great way to get you to stay in contact with your customers and let them know what is happening with your business. Today customers are happy to supply businesses with emails, and successful companies are taking advantage of those email addresses to reach out and alert buyers to promotions, remind them of recurring orders, and send out helpful information that reinforces the company’s brand - these types of emails - if they are targeted too - fall under email marketing best practices. A good email marketing campaign can generate a great deal of revenue and very limited cost to the company,. These customers have opted in to the email campaign and know what they are likely to receive – making the targeting much more likely to convert. In fact, some of the higher converting emails are even customized with the shopper’s previous purchase and relevant related items. It’s no wonder why many companies are going the paperless route and choosing email for their marketing campaigns. |

A Basic Introduction To E-commerce And Selling Onlineposted on 11 May 2012 in Internet RelatedSelling online (via ecommerce) has literally become a huge business. Everyone is trying to get in a piece of the action. I can see the growth just from the types of clients we get at our digital marketing studio in Nottingham. Even very small stores have websites where they sell their products. You really have to have a website to compete in today's world. People appreciate the convenience of one-click shopping. There are so many websites to chose from that people can actually sell the stuff out of their homes, like on ebay and many others like it. It is like your very own online garage sale, where you can buy and sell anything. The best part is you don't have to wake up at five o'clock in the morning to drive to one! If you have a laptop, you literally don't have to leave your bed! Online shopping has become so popular, and the technological advances are absolutely amazing. You can literally type in anything you want to buy, and tons of options will just appear. I promise after you start shopping that way, it is hard to go fight traffic and waste time looking in stores for your items that may not even be there. |

On the Things I Hate About So Much Drivingposted on 9 May 2012 in Cars and TransportI work for a BMW car dealership up in scotland and have a passion for cars. However, driving them these days is becoming more pain than pleasure because of road congestion and other problems. The traffic signals sometimes make me mad because I may be in a rush to getting to my office on time or in an emergency to hospital. I hate people who drive slowly in front of us. The people who going slowly in front of us make everyone chasing behind them needs to slow down their vehicles. They don't really think about the urgent of the others who are behind those slow drivers. In this case I use my air horn frequently and make them go fast or the give side to overtake them. When we drive at a medium speed that are allowed by the traffic rules the cops may stop us for checking the papers, that will make me angry sometimes. I really don't like to hear the advices from the back seat drivers. The backseat drivers may confuse us by their idiot tips. Driving without music is one of the other things that I hate - I need my music! |

Badminton Was A Great Way To Pass The Time In My Childhoodposted on 9 May 2012 in Toys and GamesI was a shuttlecock (badmintorn) player when I was at school. It really helped me physically develop. While my friends seem trapped in their homes playing with dull wooden toys, I was getting exercise and enjoying myself at the same time. How I took fancy to this game was an interesting story. When I sat to watch in my school playground, the sight of my seniors playing with colorful shuttlecock would make my imagine stir as though love birds were flying hither and thither. When the shuttlecock hit the net, to me it was as though some hunter had spread his net to catch the bird. After I was a little grown up I joined the team. I cannot forget the fond memories of those days, when we practiced the game. One day, the shuttlecock was misguided by wind and got stuck in a tree. All our efforts to take it back ended in vain. We did not have an additional shuttlecock and the match was to take place in a couple of days and we had to practice for it. So, I climbed the tree and sat on a branch and tried to take the cshuttleock. Accidentally, the branch broke off and I fell to the floor. It was not only my leg that was broken, but also my dreams to take part in the match. Now you look at modern toys and marvel at the technology - from remote control helicopters to mini laptops. Still, we mustn't forget kids need to play simple games too - outdoor games that require exercise and teamwork. |

An Office Life that Wasn't Essentialposted on 7 May 2012 in Business and FinanceMy last office job was one that I enjoyed, until several months into the relationship. I found that the company cutting corners to save money costed employees much valuable time. This was all the more painful for me since I've attended prince 2 courses in the past, so their mistakes were all the more obvious to me. They did not have a specific person to answer the phones, meaning anyone's phone could, at any minute, ring and take them away from the project they are working on, sometimes with complex problems that take quite a bit of time to resolve. I also wished that the company that I was working for had a better solution for paperwork. Once per year a new employee was hired for about 3 to 4 months just to organize and alphabetize the current year's paperwork and documents. Such as mess! All in all it was a good company to work for, however all of the extra work could really be eliminated if they would only step into 2012! When Spending Money Can be a Joyposted on 6 May 2012 in UncategorisedYou've seen them, I know you have - the Christmas mug gift, the Birthday mug gift, the Anniversary mug gift. And if you've given the unimaginative mug gift, let me be the one to tell you - boring! And they are boring to shop for! And they all end up in the back of the cupboard or on the desk holding pencils and pens. No joy in that, am I right? From now on, take plenty of time to truly listen to your loved ones, friends, and your co-workers. Listen closely, observe and take notes. Where are their interests and their passions? What are their odd obsessions? If you can learn about one special thing they love and enjoy, by the time it comes to choose a gift you will surely feel the joy of purchasing and giving the perfect gift, no matter how small! Something unique like swarovski crystal animals shows you've really taken the time to consider what to buy them. And the joy on the receiver's face will be the reward. I guarantee it! |

My Blissful Garden of Flowers and Vegetablesposted on 30 April 2012 in Home and GardenMy garden has a lot of plants it. I eschew garden furniture like gazebos, sheds or conservatories and instead give space to flowers only. My favourite plant is the rose plant which is very beautiful to view when it is there in full bloom. I have two varieties: one is of red color and the other one is pink. Next is the shoe flower (Hibiscus) and I have 3 breeds of yellow, red and pink colors respectively. On a collection it blossoms to around fifty flowers. I use these flowers to decorate my home and bring some color to my environment. I also have Jasmine planted in my garden. Not only flowers live in my garden; I have planted some green leaves and vegetables such as Brinjal, Lady's Finger, tomatoes etc in my garden. I use these for the preparation of my daily food. I also have planted four plantain trees and one on each of lemon, mango, jackfruit and sweet lime. Last year I had a mole problem, but a couple of mole traps sorted that issue out. |

My Own Backyard is My Favourite Hobbyposted on 30 April 2012 in Home and GardenMany people have different hobbies and gardening is my favourite hobby. I have reserved a place for this hobby in a corner of my courtyard of my house. It is quite open and huge area for planting the trees. I have a patio there too, replete with led tape for mood lighting. I have planted different kinds of trees. I have also grown some vegetables as well. I have planted apple, guava trees. Many flowers plants are also there which really show the beauty of my garden. Sweet fragrance of flowers of my garden spreads around my house. My garden is fenced all around so that they are not destroyed by birds or animals. I water it daily so that the flowers do not wilt, and some of my more delicate growths are protected by instant awnings. Every morning I walk through my Garden and enjoy the pleasant cool breeze blowing. In the evening I also visit my garden and sit there and study the some magazines. Some times my friends also my garden and they really praise the work done by me. |

Handbags of Different Designs Are My All-time Favouriteposted on 30 April 2012 in FashionMy favorite fashion item for women is handbags. These handbags come in different shapes and sizes and in a variety of colors. Whereas my friends love the more delicate fashions such as Forever Unique dresses and other "girly" items, I love handbags. One can buy these handbags as per budget and matching with the costumes. While the branded bags like Hello kitty, George, Gina and Lucy are very costly but still many prefer it as they consider it a symbol of status. I have also kept a unique collection of handbags of different colors and designs with me. For regular use I have kept big handbags in which I can carry other things like umbrella, tiffin box while going to office. But for parties I have kept stylish designer handbags in various colors matching with my party outfits. I also take good care of my handbags by keeping it inside the wardrobe after using it. I'm so fond of handbags that whenever I see new designs I cannot resist my temptation and buy it. |

Just the Thing and Just For Youposted on 20 April 2012 in FashionMy family and friends are numerous. That means I have lots of opportunities to choose gifts throughout the year. When I look for a present, I select something that will be meaningful to the recipient. For instance, I have friends who love to read. They appreciate gift cards to book stores, interesting book marks and the latest release from their favorite author. If my elderly aunt has a birthday coming up, I choose a delicious treat that she can enjoy in the evenings before she goes to bed. I sometimes make her earrings or other jewellery items with my jewellery tools. She does not have many personal belongings and does not like clutter. That is why I get her something that can be consumed quickly. It is more difficult for me to find something for my husband or a male relative. In those cases, I choose an item that is electronic or sports-related. If they like a certain musical artist, I look for a t-shirt or an iTunes gift card. That way, I know that my gift will be enjoyed often. |

The Details on a Facility Contractposted on 17 April 2012 in Business and FinanceMy dad has been working as a contractor for about twenty years or so and recently he was able to figure out a great way of saving cost for his site building plans by getting a facility contract for all his building needs. At first I was a bit shocked when my dad told me that he was planning to use the system to save on cost for his construction company. In fact, I was a bit alarmed because my dad is not the kind of businessman who would sacrifice quality over quantity and thought initially that he was doing this because his company was in financial trouble. After clarifying I found out that his main reason for choosing a facility contract is so he can save and improve on the working conditions for his staff. I was relieved to find out that he is doing all right and has found a way to make working for his company even better. |

The Little House That Could: From Destruction To My Pride And Joyposted on 17 April 2012 in Construction and IndustrialAs I drove up to the small ranch house with the bank-owned on the front lawn, it was difficult to think I was benefiting from someone else's misfortune. Until, that is, I stepped inside. What had once been a cute little home now looked like a war zone. Chunks of sheetrock were gouged out of the walls, the countertops were filthy with grease, and the cabinet doors were smashed. It wasn't vandals, either. It was the previous owners, whose anger appeared to know no bounds. I decided right then and there I would buy the house and restore it. I had a friend who sold construction machinery uk wide, and I knew he could help me find the handymen and equipment to get the job done. And that's exactly what I did. With the help of family and friends, and lots of elbow grease, that poor little ranch house is now my pride and joy. It now boasts wonderful timber exposed roof trusses which give it a rustic feel, and an open plan design inside which works well for my family. |

Miki is Thinking the Outdoor Life is Excitingposted on 15 April 2012 in Recreation and HobbiesBeing a wanderlust has always been in Miki's blood. She loves to travel and not just on tourist places but on places where there was nature plenty of nature to explore. Plain to safe Miki has always been interested in camping, mountain climbing, hiking and trekking. That is why when she ran across a site that talks about the benefits of Outdoors Living she got intrigued. The prospect of living in the wild is highly enticing for her. But when her older sister said that such a lifestyle is costly and impractical especially for a struggling artist like her she realized that the only time she could do it is when she starts earning big for her artwork. So at the moment she contented herself with designing her apartment the bohemian way to show her outdoorsy personality. When she was done decorating the place it was amazing and it certainly gave off the air of freedom. She said she wants Siberian Husky puppy but since she's living in a high rise apartment that is absolutely prohibited. |

Budgeting is Critical to Financial Stabilityposted on 13 April 2012 in Business and FinanceWe are a one income family, so that one parent is able to stay at home and look after the children. We made this choice to ensure our children had the best upbringing available to us. In order to do this we have had to be very careful about how we manage our money. We have a strict budget that we all stick to. We listed everything that we spend, both planned direct debits and food shopping etc and ad hoc spending entertaining and socialising. We also included an amount for birthdays, Christmas, clothing, insurances and car maintenance each month. Then we listed everything we had coming into the house - salary, benefits etc. Hopefully the income was greater than the outgoings, but if not then we have to slice savings out of the outgoings. The first time we did this is was easy, getting better deals on insurance, phones/TV packages etc, the more we've had to do it the harder its become. But in order to survive we have to do it. We try to reduce the amount of electric we use to keep those bills down. We also cook the majority of food from scratch. This saves a lot of money in processed foods on our groceries bill. It also provides a healthier diet for our children. It's not easy, but when there is a bit of money left over at the end of each month, there is a huge sense of achievement, this can then be saved towards a break away later in the year. We also put some money away in a family sipp as well. |
